All the grandkids remember these, thick like a buscuit, cut with a lid from the mayonaise jar.... practically a meal!

4 Cups Flour
1 Cup Shortening
4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon salt
1 Cup Buttermilk
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Mix to soft dough, chill or add flour if too soft. Roll, cut, sprinkle with flour. 400 for 8-10 mins
