Sugar Dumplings

½ Cup Sugar – place in skillet and caramelize (don’t burn!)
Slowly pour in:
2 ½ Cups hot water
2 Tablespoons butter
½ Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Sugar
Cover and simmer while making dumplings:
2 Tablespoons Butter (softened)
½ Cup Sugar
1 ½ Cup Flour
2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Cup Milk
½ teaspoon Vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, add rest of ingredients. Drop into syrup and cover/simmer for 15 minutes until dumplings are done. Serve warm with ice cream.
